I specialize mainly in Family Law which can be divided into two main areas: divorce and child custody cases.

With regard to divorce cases, I interact with clients who are on the brink of divorcing and try and speak to them in the hopes of reconciliation. In the event that reconciliation proves to be impossible, I then advise my clients to file for divorce. Depending on the nature of the relationships between the two spouses, I will encourage a meeting that will involve an open discussion as to what each spouse would like and will advise them accordingly as to what is possible under the law. If both parties are happy, I proceed to draw up an agreement which will be used as a divorce settlement.

With respect to child custody cases, I aim to help disadvantaged mothers or fathers who feel that they ought to have custody of their children. This involves an open discussion as to what their options are under the law and weighing out their chances of success in applying for custody. In cases where I feel that the chances of success are slim, I will advise my clients to seek an alternative route- which is an application for access. My area of expertise also allows me to work closely with families who are victims of domestic violence.

Aside from family law, I also enjoy practicing criminal law, mainly sexual assault and juvenile cases. In such instances, I defend people who have been accused and provide them with sound advice as to the merits of their cases and how best to proceed, including assisting them at trial.
